“From Strength To Strength” Digital print 280 x 340mm 2012

My artwork is inspired by Andy Warhol and represents my son slowly regaining the strength he had before his diagnosis in 2009.
Shane began treatment in 2009 for T-Cell Lymphoma at the age of ten, he has now completed his treatment and is getting stronger every day as he recovers. This is my interpretation of how he seemed to gain strength both physically and emotionally the closer he got to completing treatment.
Despite the struggles along the way Shane’s experience enabled him to gain strength in other areas of his life. He showed great courage in confronting his illness and he was able to focus on the many positive things that happened along the way.
